Accommodation and Visas

London has a wide range of accommodation types to suit all budgets. The city has great public transport links and there are many accommodation options within walking distance of the Royal Society or a short tube ride away.
If you are looking for budget-friendly accommodation, BISA has joined up with the University of Westminster to offer delegates accommodation in the Alexander Fleming Hall of Residence in Shoreditch. Single rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities are £54 per night. To book please visit their website, ensuring you add in the notes that you are part of the BISA 2019 Annual Conference.

Check here if you need a UK visa

Please note: BISA is not legally able to provide general letters of invite to the conference. Delegates need to be accepted to present on the conference programme, to have joined BISA as members, and to have registered for the conference. Only if all three conditions are met will a letter be provided. Please email the BISA office to request a letter - the deadline for requests is 1st April 2019.

Requests for letters after the deadline will not be processed and visas are unlikely to be issued in time. Please ensure you allow a minimum of 3-4 months for any visa application to be processed by the British Embassy, or consulate, where you make your application. Please also ensure you follow the application instructions very closely.
