Michelle Bentley

Nominee statement

I am Senior Lecturer in International Relations and a long-standing BISA member. I am on the Advisory Committee for the US Foreign Policy working group, as well as an active member of several other working groups.
The REF/TEF era means intense pressure on IR scholars. BISA should be a support network that helps our members deal with this, by offering innovative research, leadership, and professional opportunities. I want to be a trustee to make these opportunities happen and explore new ways to ensure IR academics are secure in the current research environment and to build up our important academic community. .

I am a regular participant at the annual and specialist group conferences and within BISA's learning and teaching portfolio. My relevant experience includes: active BISA exec member, impact case study author and extensive media work; above all, I am a firm believer in the enormous value of collegiality. .
